After Sidmouth
My toes are blistered, my heels are rubbed
My knees have begun to creak
I’ve turned my corner a thousand times
O yes it’s Sidmouth week.
I’ve hurried a hey and ruined a reel
My ocean wave ebbed with the tide
I’ve fluttered my wheel and boxed my gnat
And swatted my flea with pride.
Thanks for the efforts to curb the mad hordes
I’ll miss the humour and fun
It’s great to be part of a company
There’s no joy in dances for one.
