Silence
I’ve waved goodbye and turned the key
And now I can relax for free
A drowsiness sweeps over me
Silence
The questions and the chat are gone
The toys away the puzzles done
I feel as if the battle’s won
Silence
My relatives are great to see
In fact they mean the world to me
But I’m older than I used to be
Oh Silence
The piano is in constant play
My whistles merrily join the fray
There’s constant music all the day
Oh for silence
We went to Eden (our poor feet)
I felt exhausted with the heat
Then back to cook the veg and meat
No Silence
Gwithian Beach we then invaded
I must admit that I felt jaded
The children dashed about and waded
Breaking Silence
So I lie prone on my bed
Quiet thoughts drift through my head
Enjoying every single shred
Of Silence.

Silence

The toys away the puzzles done
