Poor John
Tea or coffee that’s the question
But may I offer one suggestion
Our treasurer is never free
To sip his welcome cup of tea! (Poor John)
You laugh you chat and think it’s funny
As he sits there to take your money.
Then when it’s time to dance again
You bring your money. What a pain!
We’ve made up sets but sad to say
Where is John? Packing away (Poor John)
So roll up, pay up at the start
Don’t make our treasurer down at heart
He takes your dues throughout his break
Don’t make him wait for Goodness Sake!
Release those moths within your purse
Don’t make his situation worse.
Why be selfish, make him wait
You pay no less by paying late!
In fact to compensate him for his trouble
You might be charged a fee that’s double.
The club is said to be autonomous
So far he’s kept your name anonymous
So don’t begrudge the modest fees
Pay up promptly if you please!
